Throughout the years we have seen a significant increase in the number of Madrassah in the UK. In parallel with that, parents’ worries have also increased.
We can question if the methods of teaching are still adequate and how to ensure that Madrassah are safe places for children?
Moreover, at a time where children are being challenged in their Muslim Birtish identity, it is important to point out whether Madrassah can continue to be only a place to teach Qur’an.

Workshop A: Improving the quality of teaching
Led by Sister Mariam Hassam
Mariam Hassam has been teaching at Madrassah for twenty years and has started her fourth year as Principal at Hyderi Islamic School. With a team of volunteers, the Madrassah caters to 450 students.She is currently working as a consultant at CoEJ Spiritual Academies Network (SAN) where within a team she connects fifteen Madaris in Europe.
Workshop B:How to ensure the safety of children in Madrassah?
Led by Mohamed Ayub
Open to people involved in Mosques and Islamic Institutions: Trustees, Managers, Volunteers, Islamic teachers, parents.
