MINAB Elects New Board

On Saturday 30th June at Leicester Central Mosque, members of the Mosques and Imams National Advisory Board (MINAB) met for the Annual General Meeting and elected a new Executive Board which is to be chaired by Imam Qari Asim MBE.

The new Chairman of MINAB, Imam Qari Asim said:

“I am honoured and humbled to have been elected as Chair of MINAB, an umbrella community-led and independent organisation. The MINAB is non-sectarian in its outlook and works with and is inclusive of the major Muslim traditions and schools of thought. “

“I am looking forward to working with the new executive board to engage with our Mosques and religious training institutions. One of our key priorities is to listen to a diverse spectrum of British Muslim voices to ensure Mosques are safe, well-governed and engaging with our youth, women and society at large. More open, inclusive, and vibrant Mosques will help raise standards and community cohesion.  As British Muslims, we need to invest equip, train and empower Imams and Mosque staff and volunteers to address some of the key challenges and help our institutions to grow from strength to strength.”

“The founding organisations, previous trustees, members and supporters- all deserve our greatest appreciation and recognition for their contribution to date.”

“I ask British Muslim Communities to constantly and continually pray for me and other office bearers so that we are able to serve the communities sincerely and efficiently.”

The MINAB new Executive Board will be managed by the newly elected Board of Trustees which consists of:

Imam Qari Asim (Chairman)

Sayed Mohsen Al-Khoei (Secretary)

Ali Albatati (Treasurer)

Mrs Aksa Khan (Vice Chair)
